Nicola Benedetti's soft tones often race into a more mellow one of horror perfect for any movie. I've personally never heard anything like her. I think she has her own style of classical music that is remarkable, to say the least.

I am...awed at the simplicity and beauty of Nicola's music. When I first heard it my heart sort of flipped and I had to stop and listen. I hightly recommend this album to anyone who wants to relax, read, study, or breathe for that matter. Absolutely lovely.

It is wonderful, just like her pervious album and I don't believe that it is fair to rate and compare the classical genre against regular pop or rock music. It is an aquired taste and if you don't love classical music, then you should not speak (or rate) on it.

i really enjoyed this album. i have always been a fan of vaughan williams and ms. benedetti give a wonderful reading of the lark ascending with the london philharmonic, but i don't understand why everyone is ganging up on my fellow reviewer. the man is obviously knowledgeable about classical music since he chose to make his apple ID a play on a contemporary French composer's name (Boulez-Boolez). he could just be making the case that he doesn't find vaughan williams or tavener particularly interesting and this is a valid assessment. don't jump on him just because he didn't like the album and you did. at least he's thinking about the music as opposed to thinking of it a great "mood" music.

Nicola Benedetti is one of the best violinists out there right now. I love this version of Song for Athene...not quite as much as the choral version but it's close. Also, I don't see why it really matters that people can't seem to handle classical music. If you don't like it, you don't like it. I'll probably judge you for being completely pedestrian and uncultured, but like...I'm sure those are the same people who call me a nerd for being a music major, so I guess we're even.

ITS HORROR, LOVE, PAIN, AND BEAUTY IN EACH NOTE. EXCELLENT!!!! A PICTURE PAINTED, A STORY TOLD. THIS ALBUM IS FOR ANYONE WHO ADMIRES AND LOVES CLASSICAL WITH A TOUCH OF MODERN LIFE. AN OLD AGE EXPERIENCE IN THE 20TH CENTURY.

While slow classical music is not what I would typically choose to listen to, this is a nice collection of relaxing music that I can see someone using to unwind after a long day at work. Also, Nicola Benedetti seems to be a very good violinist, very expressive, very precise.
